HOOP HOUSE OPEN FOR SEASON ON MAY 31st !
The
Northern Plains Botanic Garden Society will be opening its leased
hoop house on Saturday, May 31st at 09:00 a.m.
At that time we will be propagating more house plants, planting and
weeding and readying the hoop house for the growing season. We will
also need volunteer help on a daily basis for watering and plant maintenance
work - as well as for future sales work.
If
you are interested in helping at the hoop house - either on May 31st
in the morning, or at anytime thereafter, please contact Lisa Brown
at 232-3765 or at peacelab@i29.net .
The
Hoop House is located on the campus at NDSU. From 12th Ave N, go north
onto 18th St. You will cross immediately the railroad tracks and then
will see the big blue roof building ahead of you on the east side
(right side) of the road. The Hoop House is located behind the Horticultural
Test Plots, which are WEST (left side) of 18th St. (The little concrete
approach to the dirt road you need to take is directly opposite the
entrance to the blue roof building). SO: turn left onto the dirt road/path
that goes through the Hort. Test Plots. You will drive beyond the
trees and will see an old storage building ahead... the Hoop House
is to the right of the storage building.
If the soil is muddy, we recommend that you park your vehicle at the
State Seed Laboratory parking lot (building with Red Roof at the corner
of 18th St. and Centennial Blvd) and walk in.
If
you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
Botanically yours,
